Land & Roll Drill

Chipping Distance Control & Proximity to Hole

It’s time to put it all together! Hit your landing area, choose the right club, finish the ball by the hole. Easy up and down!

Equipment Needed

  • 10+ Golf Balls

  • 8 Tees

  • 2 Alignment Sticks (or clubs not being used)

The Set Up

  • Find a 15-yard (approximate) chip shot on the practice green. Ideally, you will have approximately 2-yards from your chipping location to the front of the green.

  • Place eight tees around the cup at a distance of 3-feet (one putter length) to create your “final zone.”

  • Place two alignment sticks (or clubs) where you intend to land the ball 1-yard apart to create the “landing zone.”

How to Score

1. Chip 20 balls from the (START) position.

2. You score 1-point if your ball lands in the “landing zone” between (A-B).

3. You score 1-point if your ball finishes in the “finish zone,” which is the circle of tees around the hole. So, a perfect shot scores 2-points.

4. You score 0-points if you miss both targets.

5. You can change clubs or the “landing zone” at any time.

6. Move balls on the green out of the way as necessary.

Be sure to use your pre-shot routine on each putt. Remember, “Practice like you play, Practice like a champion, Play like a champion!”
