3-D Drill

Putting Speed Drill

3-D is a challenging speed drill! There will be times when you might not be able to complete this within the allocated time. If so, try and finish it next time!

Equipment Needed

3 Golf Balls
10 Tees

The Set Up

1. Find a level or slight uphill putt (25-30 feet long).

2. Place tees (A-E) at 3-yards, 4-yards, 5-yards, 6-yards and 7-yards.

3. Place tees as shown to create the β€œD” around the cup, which is the zone your balls must finish in. Tees are one putter length (3-feet) from the edge of the cup. The zone starts level with the front edge of the cup.

How to Score

1. Start by putting all three balls from tee (A), which is 9-feet.

2. All three balls must finish within the β€œD” to move to the next level.

3. If two out of three finish in the β€œD”, repeat from the same level.

4. If one out of three finish in the β€œD” move one level closer to the hole.

5. If none of your balls finish in the β€œD” you must start over.

6. ADVANCED RULE: When at the start tee (A) all three balls must finish in the β€œD” and at least one ball must be in the hole.

Be sure to use your pre-shot routine on each putt. Remember, β€œPractice like you play, Practice like a champion, Play like a champion!”
