Closed Club Face - Hook
Hooks, pushes, and everything in between?
Yes, you guessed it! It could be your grip.
Let’s take a look at lead and trail hand grip strength issues that could be causing your hook (and other misses).
Error: Closed club face.
A closed club face at the top of the backswing will require downswing compensations.
Possible misses include hooks, snap hooks, pushes, and push fades.
Closed club face: Hook.
An overly strong lead hand can result in a closed club face at the top of the backswing and over-closing at impact.
If three or more knuckles are visible on the lead hand, that would be considered a strong grip.
Closed club face: Hook.
The trail hand getting too strong is a sneaky, under-the-radar hook machine!
If the thumb of your trail hand is visible, beware!
It’s possible that you might need to fix one or both hands to improve your club face.
