Open Club Face - Slice

That dreaded slice could be a result of your grip!

Let’s take a look at lead and trail hand grip strength issues that could be causing your slice.

An open club face at the top of the backing can result in an over-the-top downswing.

If the club face remains open, the ball will slice. Often, golfers will get “flippy” in a subconscious attempt to square the club face.

If someone comes to me for a lesson with a slice and a weak lead hand, you better believe we are going to change it!

Otherwise, it’s that much hard to close the club face!

Strengthening it to neutral will make it easier to close the club face.
