Palm VS Fingers Grip Check
This simple test will help you determine if you are holding the club currently in your fingers or in your palm.
In the previous section, we walked through the steps of how to place the lead hand correctly on the handle.
Now, let’s see if you are doing it correctly!
Correct: Pad on top.
When the handle is gripped in the fingers, the pad of the hand sits on top.
This allows you to hinge and unhinge your wrists during the swing.
Incorrect: Pad on side.
When the handle is gripped in the palm, the pad of the hand sits on side.
This makes it harder to hinge your wrists during the swing. It can also cause a “weak” lead hand in terms of grip strength.
