Trail Hand Placement
Right hand for right-handed golfers. Left hand for left-handed golfers.
I see all combinations of grips and grip strengths.
The way you place your trail hand on the club influences the strength of the trail hand (weak, neutral, or strong).
An error with your trail hand placement will likely lead to club face control issues.
Step One
The handle of the club sits in the fingers of the trail hand.
Start by aligning the side of the club across the middle of your fingers.
Step Two
Close your fingers around the bottom of the grip.
Then, cover the lead thumb with the lifeline of your trail hand.
High placement in fingers.
This could be a good thing or could be a bad thing…
Placing the handle higher up in the hand strengthens the grip. For someone that has a weak trail hand, this could be could. For someone who is already too strong, this could be the reason why.
